From North Walker Township to Comstock Park
The land that became Comstock Park was first settled in 1839 by Solomon Wright II, part of what was then called North Walker Township before Alpine Township was created from its northern half in 1847 -- named for the density of pine trees in the area. The community was renamed Comstock Park in 1906, honoring U.S. Representative Charles C. Comstock, who served one term from 1885 to 1887.
